ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Alan Cavé was born in Brooklyn, NY on February 27. His father is the well known poet, writer, and art director, Ernst (Syto) Cavé and his mother is the late Yanick Jean Cavé, actress, writer, editor, and painter. Alan spent most of his summers in Haiti. During that time, he often accompanied his father Syto Cavé, on tours in the Caribbean Islands (Martinique, Guadeloupe, St. Lucia), France, and Canada. Surrounded by people who loved the arts, and born to celebrities, Alan had no choice but to follow in their footsteps.

By mid 1987, a long time friend, Wydens Joseph who was with the group Papash told Alan that a new group ZIN was looking for a lead singer. Cavé auditioned for the lead. The band leader (Maestro), Alex Abellard, repeatedly said that when Alan auditioned, he knew that his search for a lead singer was over; and he found the voice he wanted on his side and not against him or the Band ZIN. By late 1987, the group was complete and they released their debut album Fe’m Vole in 1988.

Alan’s seductive voice is a big part of that success. His musical rendition touches your soul, soothes your heart, and you only yearn for more. He is a prolific songwriter, with a catalogue of songs and unreleased recordings in English, French, and Creole. When asked what inspires him, he answers simply: “Love, Life, and People.” Today he is one of the most sought after performer in the HMI. He has performed and collaborated with the biggest names in from Haiti, Martinique, and Guadeloupe; his list consists of artist like N’Jie, Tanya St. Val, Malavoi, and the list goes on.
The ZIN team assisted Alan Cave with his solo project. The assistance of people like Alex Abellard, Eddy St. Vil and Salazar Jn. Baptiste, Alan Cavé released his First solo album, Lage’m. The album, debuted in the number one position on the HMI industry. The album consist of award winner songs such as Nan Nannan and Ma Rose

Cavé released his second solo album; Se Pa Pou Da” in 2001, it to was an enormous success. The album transcends the barriers of language and cultural sound, the melodies literally touches everyone from all ethnic background Japan, Africa, to South America. All who listen to the album became immediate fans of Alan Cavé.
