ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Duetti is a collection of musical pieces for two instruments – a duo. The duo on this album consists of Canadian Alan Matheson on cornet, fl.horn and piano, and Finnish Atro “Wade” Mikkola on double bass. Their collaboration has continued for 15 years in various settings, starting in Estonia in1998. The relationship has been nurtured by their similar interests, views and experiences concerning jazz-music and its history. Matheson’s almost yearly visits to Finland with his wife, Riina Tamm, have provided regular musical and cultural exchanges over the years. This album can be viewed as a musical continuation, or representation of the many long discussions that they have had about music and life.
