Well known for his work with superstar band Testament, Alex has transformed his style to a new brand of straight-ahead Jazz; using traditional instruments like stand up double bass, swing trap drum kit, and semi-hollow body guitars. ALEX SKOLNICK has performed the world over many times and released 5 megahit albums with his band, Testament. Alex received critical acclaim for his lead guitar work, which had been inspired by heroes such Eddie Van Halen and Randy Rhoads.
An exposure to Miles Davis' electric bands inspired him to push harder to be a serious musician. No longer content to be just
a metal player, he began an intense study of many types of music including jazz, funk and world music. In this pursuit he
managed to work with other musician's musicians like Stu Hamm, Michael Manring, Adam Holzman, Tim Alexander, and
Les Claypool. Alex is most recently known for his work with the Trans-Siberia Orchestra as music director and guitarist, and
his contribution to a jazz compilation album to benefit The instruments for the Youth Charity Program, which also features Pat Martino, Andy Summers, Craig Chaquico, Ernie Watts, and Steve Vai.
Holographic Records has acquired the rights to manufacture and distribute, "GOODBYE TO ROMANCE" to the rest of the world. Originally self released in the U.S., "Goodbye To Romance" has garnered stacks of raves with his unique way of arranging Rock standards into awesome Jazz arrangements. This new version of the release includes a special bonus track of "No One Like You" recorded live in Cleveland, Ohio USA.
