Born in British Columbia as the sixth child in a musical family of 10, Alexz Johnson came to the planet singing. By age 14, Alexz was performing the national anthem at NHL and NBA games in Vancouver and was writing music with her brother Brendan. At age 18 Alexz landed the lead role of Jude Harrison in the CTV drama series Instant Star. Alexz also won a Gemini Award for her work on the critically acclaimed drama series which is seen in 150 countries. Alexz also starred in The Chris Isaak Show, The Collector, Cold Squad, Smallville and Final Destination 3.
In 2009 Alexz signed with Orange Lounge Recordings new imprint, inDiscover Recordings to release her debut album Voodoo. In the summer of 2010, Alexz teamed up with Demacio 'Demo' Castellon to remix all 11 tracks from her debut album to create Reloaded. It was officially announced through inDiscover Recordings and Alexz’s newsletter that the first single from the remix album would be “Boogie Love”, a throwback to the late 70’s. The music video and song hit iTunes in January 2011. In late March Nelly Furtado tweeted “Just heard Alexz Johnson's next single ‘Look at These Eyes’ - it's an EVENT!”. “Look at Those Eyes” was subsequently released on March 29.
“Reloaded is a remixed version of the indie album that I worked on with my brother,” says Alexz. “The Demolition Crew succeeded in adding new flavors and sounds to shine a bit more light on ‘the little indie album that could’" says Alexz.
"Alexz's musical essence is other-worldly because she manages to be classy, fun, thoughtful, and modern at the same time,” says Demacio 'Demo' Castellon. “Her lyrics and musical perspective are totally unique. She's a pop artist for the future."
