Vogelperspektive Vol. 4: Intensivstation

by Alfred Vogel, John Schröder & Wolfgang Zwiauer

Intensivstation reminds on Miles Davis legendary Bitches Brew album, but with a fresh contemporary attitude. The trio sounds sometimes like a quartett or quintett due to multi instrumentalist John Schröder

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
INTENSIVSTATION - a Trio, that sounds like a Quartett or Quintett ...
feat. John Schröder on 3 (!) instruments: fender rhodes, guitar, drums; Wolfgang Zwiauer, Bass, Alfred Vogel, drums and loops - "fascinating, highly inspired improvisational skills" jazzthing
John Schröder is a multiinstrumentalist and kind of a Free Jazz Godfather from Berlin. No matter if he is playing drums for Nils Wogram or Guitar for Erdmann 3000, nor Piano in his trio - he is always on the edge of artistry! In this certain Trio, John is featured on 3 instruments which he is playing simultaneously. So the Band sometimes sounds like a Quartett or even Quintett. Wolfgang Zwiauer on bass is one of the most desired musicians in Switzerland and together with Alfred Vogel´s "considerable drumming skills" (jazztimes) the 2 men lay down some of the hottest grooves in the alpes.
