"Aluminum Babe elude simple comparison.
They yank the bittersweet guitar song violently into funky disco terrain and then gently lick it with a creamy female falsetto. Driving dance-punk energies, making for a fascinating sonic journey that is highly recommended."

"Llenan cada concierto y el público se vuelve loco con el despliegue de electricidad sobre el escenario"

Aluminum Babe is not a new band.
Since their start in New York City 2004 they have produced and toured their own records, building a fan base with their unique fusion of musical styles and unrelenting Live experiences.
Instead of a bio for their new release 'ILLEGAL" the band asked me to interview and present the band on their own terms...
I've been a fan since I first saw the band at The Water Rats Theater in London circa 2005- 2006.
So tell me George, Whats this new record all about? Where did you record it?
I moved from the lower east side of New York to Alicante Spain to work for a night club called Stereo. This was back in Sept of 2010. We always wanted to make a record in Europe with European musicians..We met Stefan ( drums) in Cotbus, his band ( Jonny Crash) and aluminum babe shared a couple of gigs and had a great time.. Romain (guitar) played in a french band called "Code" that supported aluminum babe in Germany in 2009.
Everyone lived in a different country. Anna in Stockholm Sweden, George between Alicante and New York, Stefan in Berlin Germany, Romain in Grenoble France and Jason in Milwaukee USA.
Jason Samonik was the natural choice for producer, myself and Jason produce bands and have great traveling studio.
He spent 3 months on tour with us spring 2010, a tour that included shows at the legendary Fusion Festival in Germany and the now gone cafe Zapata in Berlin as well as The great chain of clubs in Spain called Sala Stereo.
In Fall 2011 we did some shows supporting Atari Teenage Riot in The USA.
Those shows were the foundation for the record. We performed as an electro 3 piece. Anna, Jason and me.
In April of 2011 we all met in Alicante, lived in in my apartment 2 blocks form the beach, we bought some gear and recorded tmost of the record in Club Stereo Alicante.
Some other songs we recorded on tour, "C-U-N-T" was recorded in Berlin at Stefan's rehearsal studio and we did the vocals in Cotbus before a festival this summer. The bass for "OH Yeah" was recorded in the restaurant at Shrobenhausen before a gig..so on.
Its the best aluminum babe record to date.A real mish mosh of all the different styles aluminum babe plays. There is Dance music, Indie rock, punk, drum n bass, ect..
What are the plans for this record?
Bring the music to the people! We start in France. Nov 17. this first tour will be a bit longer than a month and will hit Spain and Germany as well as France.
David Kano (Krokovia, Cycle,Hit Boutique) rocked out a great re-mix for Same Boots. This re mix and the album version will be the first dance single. ( vinyl 7")
Other singles for this record will include remixes by Berlin's own Phantastik Spastik and Spain's Jesus Gonzales.
US tours start in Feb of 2012.
As every year we will be touring from May threw the summer.
My record label with Brian Goss "Paper Tiger Entertainment / Lucero Records" has become a real business, we are releasing 4 bands this year so our camp is growing. I really urge everyone to check out www.reverbnation.com/label/papertigerlucerorecords
We release music monthly and there are bands from all over the world both geographically and musically. our traveling recording studio put out 3 records this year. As well as the aluminum babe record we recorded a great garage band from Spain called Indice Vix. Me and Brian have also recorded a record with our new band called "Contra" the band is me on bass, Brian Goss on Gtr, Billy Ficca from Televison on drums and Googie from The Misfits sings. Its a reall treat playing with such music royalty.
There is a lot more to this interview... me and George closed the place.....Jason went to some after hours and who knows what time he got back to the house...
I love this record, every song is a different style of music but they all have a common thread, somehow aluminum babe make it flow like a great epic. The delays you hear are part of the live sound. Anna creates sound sculpture with delay pedals in the midst of her euphoric dancing. This is not new for her, its been a part of their sound since their start in New York City.
Aluminum Babe does not play to backing tracks, the drummer plays to a click and all the sounds are introduced and manipulated by Samonik. Some how they mix all styles of dance and post-punk music with real psychedelic rock. its a real live experience.
"aluminum babe's concerts are a great night out of modern music and art, everyone is involved.
Its not just about the band...."
