What does Dance music, The Sex Pistols and Swedish kids songs have in common? Ask the "babe" in aluminum babe, Anna, who drew her musical inspiration from these elements in her home town environment in Stockholm, Sweden.
Her band is bi-continental, and is making its mark on the USA the Uk and soon the rest of Europe with its aggressive dance- punk rock that's buttered up with coy pop edges. Simple, direct and passionate, aluminum babe's songs and no-bullshit spirit breathe life into the dance- punk rock genre like it hasn't seen since the original days of the Ramones,Blondie and The Pretenders.

aluminum babe was born in 2001 in New York City when the captivating Swedish singer Anna found magnetic musical synergy in the Lower East Side of NYC with bassist Jorge. With the help of NYC Hardcore Punk legends A.J Novello (gtr) and Pokie (drums) members of the great bands LEEWAY, MURPHY'S LAW and THE CRO-MAGS, The band recorded their debut EP "aluminum babe" at Mother West Studios in NYC in the summer of 2002.
Their self-titled EP contains a rich repertoire of catchy gems such as "Oh Yeah", "Billy" and" Y u so mean", which spin universals of romance and loneliness flat on their faces, smiling with irony all the while.
This first release gave birth to the myth that aluminum babe is a punk band.

aluminum babe finished off a busy 2002 playing the New York City area and executing an enthusiastically received tour to Sweden, which included a featured appearance at the internationally renowned Popcorn Film Festival. "aluminum babe" the EP was released on Mother West Records in the May of 2003. With the addition of drummer Darren and guitarist Jeff, the group dove into the NYC clubs, developing a blend of disco-punk focused on high energy and originality of sound.
Playing everywhere from The Mercury Lounge to Meow Mix, aluminum babe developed an ecstatic fan base in and around New York. aluminum babe's self tittled EP was licensed to MTVs show "Newlyweds" now available on DVD. Over 300,000 copies sold world wide! aluminum babe has received $61.00 for their part
In 2004 aluminum babe wrote and recorded Vitrified @ IIWI Studios. The famed studio came from the ashes of the great Record Plant in NYC which was home to John Lennon, Bruce Springsteen, Patti Smith ect.
Soon after, aluminum babe traveled to The UK several times where they commanded the attention of Velocity Recordings.
In late 2004 Velocity picked up the band and Vitrified was released in The UK on April 4th 2005.

On Sept 28th 2005 aluminum babe recorded a Peel session for BBC's RADIO 1. aluminum babe's Peel Session came in 34 in BBC listeners poll "The festive 50 of 2005." The band also released their first single in the Uk on Oct 3rd, 2005, "Everything 2 me", it includes a re-mix by the unstoppable DJ Downfall and a previously unreleased track,"not 2 easy 2 forget". The legendary Swedish artist Gunnar Lundkvist (Klas Katt) provided cover design and concept.
aluminum babe toured the UK in the fall of 2005 with "frommars", 18 shows in 18 days that took both bands from Aberdeen, Scotland to Newport, Wales and everywhere in between.
In the USA Vit.tri.fied was released on Oct 11th 2005 on LUCERO RECORDS. Vit.tri.fied has been added to over 100 cmj stations. (Planetary Group) Everywhere stations and kids are playing aluminum babe's VITRIFIED, including the great K-Roq-LA.
Early in 2006 the band hit the road again in the USA, a run of shows up the west coast from LA to Seattle.
In May aluminum babe traveled back to Europe, 15 shows starting in Kempten, Germany. Highlights were Madrid, Glasgow and London.
As always the band erupted into a frenzy of dance hypnotic-punk.
In the Fall of 2006 the band started recording their second record, mixed and co-produced by Gerard Garone of New York's disco-punk pioneers RADIO 4.
Fulled by their live energy and ability to keep fans on edge, aluminum babe is putting the final touches on a super charged record filled with melodies that keep your head humming and rythms that keep your feet dancing.
The album will be released in Europe in Feb 2007. aluminum babe will be on tour in Europe starting in late Feb. As always the band whose live show has been called "a sexy tug-o war between The Hives and LCD Soundsystem" expects you to........
