ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
I started writing songs a few years ago as an outlet for life's trials and frustrations. I had never intended on making an album or doing more than playing them at home. This demo project has been an amazing learning process. I feel that I have matured as a muscian and am thrilled to share what I have done.

A special addition to the project is track #2 Ghost of Walachin. Written by my dad, Dennis Bowen, the song has haunting acoustic guitar played by my dad, reminiscent of Neil Young. The song is about his old hunting dog and the feeling of sadness after losing an old friend.

Rainbows and Butterflies, Love From You and Sing are all songs about my own life experiences. I am proud of each song for very different reasons. Rainbows is happy and hopeful and is a lyrical wishlist for what I want in a healthy relationship. Love From You is a tribute to amazing parents who are loving and supportive. The final track, SIng, gave me an opportunity to try some back up vocals. It was both frustrating and fun and I am proud of the end result.

Wes Gregg at FBR recording in Quesnel, BC is the sound engineer. He was very professional and coached me through the recording process. His talent as an engineer is obvious as you listen to the tracks and I am thrilled with the result. Check out his facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/fromthebasementrecordsrecording?ref=ts&fref=ts.

The mastering was done by Joby Baker at Baker Studios in Victoria, BC and again, I am pleased with the end result.

I am already working on a new project, this time with a band!
