ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
AMERICAN CHILLS is an amalgamation of punk, hard rock and rock 'n' roll. The band came together in the spring of 2002 and soon hit the recording studio to put down their first stash of songs. True to their hit 'n' run form, this entire CD was recorded and mixed in 5 days and the result. . . a refreshingly raw, high-energy sound.

Immediately released to college radio nationwide, American Chills sent out a beacon to the masses. In the span of three months, the American Chills' debut NINE TIMES was added to over 240 college and public radio stations all over the country. Suprisingly the band, who had only been playing together for six months before they put together the funds to record the CD, had to wait only a month after the official release before NINE TIMES broke the College Music Journal Top 20 Adds chart at #15!

NINE TIMES thrived in the Top 30 on numerous college stations throughout the U.S. and can be heard on 102.9 The Local Buzz in Nashville, TN.

Good but not great
Don't get me wrong, I like American Chills. The first song is awesome and will probably get on the radio someday but I thought the lyrics lacked some needed depth and some of the music has some weird sounds. It's a good CD but it probably won't be one of my favorites. It's a good first CD and I'll be looking forward to a better second one.

really
I think the thing with all the accessible songs is this: the bass, drums, and her voice sounds new, but I do tend to come back to her voice.

American Chills, ahhhhhhhh.
In short, it rocks. Great songs, amazing vocals. Makes a person wonder why they aren't on mainstream radio.
