ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
The power of intensifying and directing inner
consciousness, of communicating spiritual experience
and preparing the nature to receive them, has been
perfected through the millenia in the Indian
discipline of mantra chanting. In this CD, Amrita, a
practitioner of Sri Aurobindo's integral yoga, brings
a variety of Vedic, Vedantic and other powerful and
beautiful mantras to life in a way that is
soul-stirring, purifying and transformative. Each
mantra is preceded by a recitation of its English
translation by Debashish Banerji and is accompanied by
the dulcet notes of the santoor, India's hammered
dulcimer, played by world renowned santoor master,
Pandit Tarun Bhattacharya.
