ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Girl/Boy vocals, fuzzy lo-fi keys, minimal guitars, thumping drums. It's all a bit DIY..

We formed in Manchester in March 2012 and are Laura Smith (Vocals/Percussion), Martin Stanier (vocals/Keyboards) and Mat Shepherd (Drums/Vocals).

Slow Trains is our first single, about which people have said:

“No 50 of 100 Songs of the Year 2012” Bloodbuzzed blog

“an ultra-catchy tune full of lovely guitar lines and one chorus to die for, all with the A+++ of the boy/girl vocals” Songsmith blog

We write about big things in a small way, with whatever instruments we have to hand. Although Martin has forgiven Laura for stealing his melody lines, they still argue about who they should be compared to. It has been decided that band member's pets will fight it out amongst themselves, with band names tied around their necks with string..

Until then the band have agreed on the following influencees: Belle & Sebastian, The Cure, growing up in a small town, Talking Heads, The xx, man's endless pursuit of happiness/ their inability to find it, David Bowie, The Pixies, The Vaccines, The Velvet Underground etc.

There is a video to Slow Trains, which was filmed on the journet that inspired the song. You can watch it here:- https://www.youtube.com/user/anaestheticsband
