End the Night

by Andrew Liggitt

This project explores the image of light and dark and the presence of God sweeping through an individual and a community. Acoustic guitar and vocal harmony leads the way while solid rhythms and sweeping strings ebb and flow with the lyrics.

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
These songs were born out of the tension between private journaling and community worship. I wanted to wrap up a prevalent message found in the books of Isaiah and John which depicts the presence of God as light in the darkness. We ended up recording a couple songs with a band in my living room in order to get that organic, intimate, spontaneous sound. Other songs demanded a more textured approach in order to find their place in more personal confession and adoration. We are ordinary people wrestling with everyday struggles and decisions, but these songs allow us to acknowledge the deep struggle in all of us to cling to and chase after the light.
