Shine Your Little Light
A handful of special songs. A small donation. A little light.
When I was a child in Sunday School there was an annual event called Self-Denial. Self-denial was every child's opportunity to give something to help people in need in places around the world. This program, meant to shine a light on the how difficult some people's lives are, is at the very core of what the Salvation Army's World Missions program is all about. There are workers in hundreds of places at home and abroad helping the sick, the poor, the homeless, the hungry and the desperate. Money donated to this program is channelled directly to those in need. Our gifts (large or small) translate into food, clothes, clean water, shelter, medicine, education and hope.
This album, made/funded independently of The Salvation Army or any of its affiliate organizations, represents an effort to do something with what we have. 100% of the proceeds from this album will go to the Salvation Army World Missions. A small donation and a little light can shine a world of hope into a needful stranger's life.
"For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me."
-Matthew 25: 35-36 NIV
