THEANDRIC is a melodic metal band based out of Detroit, Michigan. The vision for the band began in 2006 when THEANDRIC mainman Paolo Tiseo began to envision a musical project that would fuse his two loves: melodic and aggressive heavy metal combined with the rich tradition of sacred music. The band's influences range from renowned metal bands such as Iron Maiden, Megadeth and Sepultura, to sacred music composers such as Messiaen, Palestrina, Bach and Vivaldi.
The first official release, the "Up the Irons" EP, includes a tribute to one of heavy metal's most legendary and enduring bands, Iron Maiden, written in a style designed to emulate Maiden in all their EPIC-ness. In addition, the song "Adoro Te Devote" gives a good sample of the direction of Theandric's original music: thrashy guitars, creative chord progressions, and always an empasis on memorable melodic lines. And in keeping with the tradition of sacred music, the use of Latin and traditional gregorian chants adds to the drama.
THEANDRIC's goals for the future include the completion of a full-length album in 2012, international tours, and building a strong connection with fans of heavy music worldwide.
