Album Notes
This is a Super 70's Retro/R&B/Soul Record. Big horn arrangements, Ginormous harmonies and Funky ass guitars! This is a great divergence from my past records which been cut from a Powerpop/ Rock cloth. This is a whole other side to my writing. Some of the material borders on Jazz. This is a side that I have not shown before, and it has been great to explore this side of my adoration for this style of music. From my great love for Maurice White, of Earth Wind and Fire to my love for James Brown and Mowtown's Rare Earth. So many of my early influences were from those great 70's "Philadelphia Sound" bands like The Stylistics, The Spinners, The OJays and Hall and Oates. Lots of Funky drum beats too. I have melded those influences with some really cool NuSchool Jazz beats and groovy samples. Whether you are a Nuschool or an Oldschool R&B/Soul fan, I think you will dig what I am putting out. I grew up in the very Funky Town of Minneapolis Minnesota. I came up with Prince, and the whole funk scene her in Minneapolis. So, you'll hear a whole lot of that sound in my music as well! Its in my bones and its in my DNA. Love it, Hug it, Rig it and Dig it my Brothers and Sisters!
