Known for her versatility as a singer/songwriter, teacher, entertainer and model, Angela Rust continues to positively impact others with her many talents.
Starting at the piano at age 7, Angela's love of music grew gradually and steadily increased with her abilities. She began entertaining audiences at 15, playing piano at her church. Her first vocal solo came a year later at "Across America", a music competition for teens. Through coming short of a victory in the voice category, she earned first place for her piano solo. Her love of music and performance were cemented into a passion that would guide the rest of her life.
Angela further pursued a Bachelor of Sacred Music with a major in piano and a minor in voice. Thriving in the immersion and education of music, her knowledge and talents continued to grow. Unfortunately, her rising star was temporarily sidelined as a result of chronic illness, draining her of the energy to play and explore music in the way she wanted to.
As Angela began to unravel her past and find a place of peace, she returned to music with a new introspective and thoughtful approach. In collaboration with her sister Jenny she recorded a contemporary Christian album of original songs titled "The Secret Place". A promotional tour through Ontario and parts of the United States provided an opportunity to inspire and delight local fans.
Further work as a songwriter includes the 2005 song "I Believe", the rights to which were later sold in addition to several jingles that were included in a children's DVD project.
Sharing her love of music with others has come easily with Angela. She has taught at Simcoe's Erie Music, receiving rave reviews from students and parents. Angela was also well known as a piano bar entertainer performing regularly at The Olde School Restaurant in Brantford. She also performs at weddings and funerals, always working collaboratively to choose selections that will complement the occasion.
In addition to music, Angela has also realized success as an actor and model. In addition to walking the runway at Toronto Fashion Week, other credits include being the face of Hellmann's for a web campaign, as well as acting in commercials for Vonage, Comwave, Casa Italia and Relay, the board game.
Most recently, Angela is excited to announce her relocation to the Vancouver area. The opportunity to further her career and gain exposure to a wider market was too good to turn down. She looks forward to becoming a part of the diverse music scene as well as exploring the booming film and television industry.
