ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Portland by way of Alaska, Animal Eyes have attracted a huge following in their brief history in the Portland scene. It's easy to see why. As Banana Stand's Aaron Colter wrote, "Multiple vocalists, shredding guitars, and little jammed-out without being spacey, Animal Eyes have a wild sound that manages to be tamed just enough that their catchy melodies will stay with you after the songs are over." Already a promising new act based on their studio work, Animal Eyes may be even better live -- making this not only a killer live record, but also an important artifact in the history of a vibrant new band.

Grizzly Bear Track - Opinions
Although the entire album is labelled as rock, this particular track didn't feel particularly rock-ish. This had more of a folk music feel or a pop music feel that was just particularly heavy on the percussion. The track had a bit of excessive talking at the end which I know it was live but could have been edited out as the song itself lasts about 4 minutes at best. It was almost like the artist didn't care to edit out the dead space at the end. However, if they were just doing this to give the listener a feel of what it was like when it was recorded, I suppose it accomplished that. I can't recommend them based on this one track, but I wouldn't avert people from listening to them.
