A M

by Anne Malin

Featuring electronic synthesizing, piano, cello and percussion, AM is a narrative of doubt, longing, and compassion. Recorded on a Wollensak reel-to-reel tape recorder, the lo-fi atmosphere breaks away from the pure sound of Vessel.

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Unlike "Vessel," "AM" utilizes cello, electronic synthesizing, piano, and percussion. With people as inspiration, "AM" serves as a narrative of doubt, longing, and compassion. The lo-fi acoustic atmosphere brings the listener to a meditative state; the layering of melodies run towards catharsis. A collaborative effort, "AM" features Aliya Ultan on cello and piano and Keara Dooley as a vocal harmonist and percussionist. Will Johnson is the album's electro-acoustic engineer--he recorded the album on a tape recorder with one microphone. All music on "AM" is written and performed by Anne Malin Ringwalt.
