Antenym is a play within a play on words. Anonymous and occasionally antagonistic, the anti-name [juxt-]opposed with the proto-NAME. In no sense but the chronological named after the poetry magazine of the same name, Antenym combines contrariness and pre-verbal playfulness in one word. The man behind the laptop chose the name as a placeholder until he could come up with a real one. It stuck.
Also stuck are the buffers through which he runs drums, synths, and samples. The sounds stutter and repeat, occasionallhy getting lost in lengthy tangents. Beats shatter apart to re-from in new ways, only to themselves fall prey to entropy again moments later.
The Mundane Egg is the egg from which the universe hatched, and the cracks running through its shell translate into the digital fissures running through the album.
The Mundane Egg isreleased under a Creative Commons Sampling Plus 1.0 license. You can find out a lot more about it at www.creativecommons.org, but the upshot of it is that you are free to copy and/or distribute any or all of the tracks from this album. You are also free to perform the song (in a DJ set, movie soundtrack, whatever) or to sample any part of the recordings as long as you use the piece for non-commercial purposes. Partial sampling of the song is allowed for all commercial uses except advertising, which is prohibited.
I release this stuff under a Creative Commons license in hopes that you will copy this album for any of your friends who are into this kind of music (which you likely would have anyway). Enjoy!
