ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
This is the brand new re-mastered release of the Arlo classic. Digitally remastered in 2004 with state-of-the-art technololgy, the sound quality on this release is the best available today. The new packaging includes artwork missing from previous CD versions.

Arlo is backed by extremely talented musicians including Doug Dillard, Clarence White, Hoyt Axton, Ry Cooder, and Jim Keltner.

The songs range from the whimsical "Ukulele Lady" to Woody Guthrie's heartbreaking "1913 Massacre". Arlo's version of Steve Goodman's "City of New Orleans" was a hit with the album's original 1972 release.

Highly Recommended
This album contains the classic track The City of New Orleans one of his finest songs ever recorded.Ukulele Lady is a little gem and Bob Dylan's When The Ship Comes In is marvellous. It finishes with the title track Hobo's Lullaby. A very highly recommended album.

Hobo's Lullaby
I lost my vinyl a couple of relationships ago, and am greatful to now have the cd. Make no mistake, people, Arlo's music is no nostalgic trip down memory lane: the words and music still stir my soul.

Really enjoyed re-acquainting myself with a classic. He invokes real emotions, from the anger & melancholy invoked by Woodie's terrible recollections of Calumet, to the frivolity of Ukelele Lady & nostalgia for simpler days in "City of New Orleans". This Albumn is timeless.

wonderful
arlo's been given credit however on the other hand i don't believe he's been given all the credit he rightfully deserves. the city of new orleans is a real favorite of mine henceforth my father worked and retired from southern railway ( norfolk southern ). all the other song's i find wonderful as well.

Great to find this here again! Especially this album accompanied me style-forming in my times of exploring strings and singing in the 70´s (I´m a 57´er). The vinyl from those days got lost somewhere on the road of life, but I still see it as one of my roots. Thank you, Arlo, you´re part of my being!
