ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
“Arundhati’s kirtan seems to come from an ancient place. Her voice expresses timeless devotion to Krishna.”

Arundhati Devi has been leading kirtans in India and the western world since the 1960s, and this is her debut album. Chanting is the great love of her life, and the chants on this CD express her many years of this practice. The music is at times meditative, at times ecstatic. Rather than doing short chants, on this cd Arundhati has engaged in very long versions of the chants in order to really bring the listerners deep within their own hearts. She is accompanied by excellent musicians, including Steve Gorn on bansuri flute, Naren Budhakar on tabla, Noah Hoffeld on cello and Tommy Be on kanjira, whilst Arundhati plays both the harmonium and kartals. All of these ancient mantras are devoted to Radha-Krishna, the divine loving couple. Krishna is all love, Radha is His beloved. Through these chants we can immerse ourselves in a pure devotional state, and give ourselves a taste of the nectar for which we are always seeking within our own hearts.

"If you like traditional classic chanting then you’ll love Arundhati’s CD. It’s a romantic and haunting tribute to the union between Radha and Krishna . Arundhati combines the sacred mantras with her soulful voice and the result is a beautifully, well done CD that touches the heart. It’s rare that I play any CD constantly but I’m listening to this one everyday and loving it. And the more I hear it the more it grows on me. " (M.Klein, NY)

Wonderfully transcendental
Arundhati's album is so mellow and her melodies are haunting. It's so nice to hear women's voices--hers and others--singing our Vaishnava songs. I've been listening to Arundhati sing kirtan for almost 40 years, now I can have her with me always. Truly a gift. Thank you Arundhati!

Radha Krishna Journey of Love
Hauntingly beautiful, melodic, hypnotic and mystical...ancient, ageless yet ever fresh. We listen daily to feel transported to Goloka Vrindavan. Thank you Arundhati Devi Dasi...we hope you will bless us with more!

This is the real thing
"Radha-Krishna Journey of Love" is the real thing -- genuine devotional chanting by a decades-long devotee of Radha and Krishna. The bhakti (devotional love) heard in Arundhati Devi's singing takes you on a journey to Vrindaban, the spiritual abode of Radha and Krishna, and the peace and beauty and joy you experience there stays with you long after the CD ends. The melodies Arundhati Devi has composed are so attractive that you want to sing them, and they're simple enough that you actually can -- i.e., perfect kirtan melodies. I feel closer to the Divine by listening to this CD and will be buying a few more copies to give as gifts to those I love.
