ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Audrey Gossett was born in the Spring of 1979. Her Father raised her on Old Country. The songs of Willie, Johnny, Loretta, Waylon, Patsy, Merle, Hank Sr., just to name a few, were staples in their daily music library. Not to mention the sounds of Lynyrd Skynyrd, Charlie Daniels Band, Eagles, Elvis Presley & Jerry Lee Lewis. Her Mother introduced her to artists like Creedence Clearwater Revival, Santana, Carly Simon, Led Zeppelin, America, Rolling Stones, Carole King & Bob Dylan. One could say music was instilled in Audrey from the day she was born. "My parents were listening to Rolling Stones when my Mom went in to labor. I must have thought it was my cue to make my way into the world". At the young age of 14 Audrey picked up some drum sticks and discovered her love for drumming but that was quickly overshadowed when she began to write music of her own. "I would play drums and sing background vocals for bands that I was in, but the songs that I started to write didn't fit the style of the band. So I thought that I should learn to play guitar so I wouldn't have to depend on other musicians. This way, I could call the shots on the sound I was looking for. I had no one to teach me and luxury of the internet didn't exist so my resources were limited. I bought a book full of guitar chords and taught myself the basics and it just developed from there. I had to do the best with what I had. As far as the drums were concerned I’d turn up the radio and try to play along". In 2000 Audrey released her debut Album "Sarah's Laughter" with a small indi label she was with at the time. Audrey Gossett is currently unsigned and is looking for representation.
