ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Shake It Out is the debut album from Austin Stewart, drummer and composer based in Portland, Ore. Featuring Mac Brown (guitar/Five Fingers of Funk), Spencer Finnan (keys/SpaceCase and Drew Nelson (bass/Vagabond Opera), the quartet creates a sound that explores instrumental grooves leaning on influences from Medeski Martin & Wood to the Meters.

Stewart graduated from Berklee College of Music in 2002 and was a student of renowned funk drummer Kenwood Dennard (Maceo Parker, Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter) and legendary composer/arranger/bassist Richard Evans (Stan Getz, Ramsey Lewis, Jimmy Smith).

Mastering by Adam Gonsalves at Telegraph Mastering and released by Instrumental Grooves LLC in October of 2013.
