ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Ayetoro means an ordered and peaceful world. It is a Yoruba word and is the name of our band. Following the Afrofuturist agenda set out by Sun Ra and Fela Kuti every performance and recording is a joyful thing. The band was formed in 1996 by Nigerian Pianist, Composer and Music Director, Funsho Ogundipe. It straddles both the Afrobeat and Jazz worlds equally creating a sound which draws energy from the highly percussive Afrobeat keeping music lovers excited with its intensity. A global band which exists in different forms in different places (there are versions in Accra Lagos and London) the creative sounds evolve constantly.
