Album Notes
Backside pick is a band composed of players out of the Dallas/Fort Worth area that are all dedicated to music for two reasons: the love of the music, and the groove while playing it. The rhythm section of the group comprises that of a drummer (Tony Spiro), bassist (Cooper Appelt), guitarist and vocalist (Rocky Ottley), keyboardists (Chris Villanueva, Justin Stanton, and sometimes the special treat of Nick Groesch), aux percussionists (Mike Hodges, Nate Werth), and the horn section which includes tenor/bari saxes (Sylvester Onyejiaka), trumpet (Justin Stanton). Backside Pick has included in past performances trombone (Nick Wlodarczyk, Gaika James), tenor sax (Allastair Otteson, Space Kyle), and trumpet (Evan Weiss).

Infusing all of these creators along with the arrangements from Rocky Ottley, reveals good timin, shake yo booty, party music that is fun to listen and watch in a live performance for all ages young and old. The compostitions are very soulful and have a lot of 70's funk and soul influence as well as modern harmonic creativity built around the poppy core of wanting nothing more than to have a good time.
