ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
The Legend of Bad Johnny Law

Bad Johnny Law is an angry blues rock band from Vancouver whose sound acknowledges and reinvents music of eras gone by. They combine this with a songwriting style that shows a deep empathy for others but frustration with life struggles of the present. A heavy, catchy beat that keeps your feet moving with blast of feedback in your ear to let you know this is not really a coffeshop friendly act. It consists of songwriter/sound engineer Braden Mutch, from New Brunswick, Canada, the Trindad and Vancouver raised Sean Watkins, bassist Miguel Lopez in 2011 from Puebla, Mexico and and vocalist Jessica Escobar from El Salvador.

Despite having very different backgrounds and coming from different corners of the earth, they have been touring B.C. together and been getting radio play from college stations in Kamloops 92.3 The Ex, CJSF at SFU and BCIT Evolution 107.9 in Burnaby. They have played seemingly every possible music space in the Lower Mainland, been drawing a dedicated crowd and boast a great live stage presence in the midst of a scene know for its shoegazers and hipsters too cool to care.
