Album Notes
Joanie Bartels Launches New Label with New Release

Los Angeles, CA - Gold record winning artist Joanie Bartels launches her new indie label, Purple Frog Records, with the exciting new release, Put On Your Dancing Shoes.

A collection of buoyant, world-beat dance tunes featuring delightful new arrangements of "The Mexican Hat Dance," "Buffalo Boys" (formerly known as "Buffalo Gals") and the Martha and the Vandellas' hit "Dancing In The Street," Put On Your Dancing Shoes is 12 non-stop gotta dance tunes.

Adding to the fun of these classic dance favorites are nine new original songs co-written by Joanie and producer Chris Rhyne. Sway to the Caribbean beat of "Gonna Have A Party." Dance like a leprechaun to "Thingamajig." Do the "Oogie Woogie Boogie", "A Little Polka" and the "Wacky Wallaby Waltz." And just when you think you can't dance another step, you'll find your feet getting carried away with "The Crazy Cajun Stomp." It's toe-tappin', hip-hoppin', foot-stompin', feel good fun that will get the whole family putting on their dancing shoes.

The nationally acclaimed "Queen of Children's Music," Joanie Bartels is the first female children's artist to receive a gold record from the RIAA. Adding to her long list of accolades, Joanie was named favorite female vocalist in a survey of new parents by Child magazine and the American Association of Children's Entertainment. She has been continuously recognized for her significant contribution to children's entertainment by winning awards from Parents' Choice, The Film Advisory Board, NAPPA (National Association of Parenting Publications), Great American Toy Test, Oppenheim Toy Portfolio, National Parenting Center, Early Childhood News Director's Choice and The Dove Foundation. Her ground-breaking "Magic Series" on audio and video (Discovery Music/BMG Entertainment) has reached triple platinum status.

If past success is any indication, Put On Your Dancing Shoes is destined to be an unqualified hit. "During this time of national and world crisis, music and dancing can play an important role in the healing process," says Joanie. "I have dedicated this CD to children and families around the world. May music bring us together in joyful celebration of our uniqueness and oneness in the dance of life."

A portion of the proceeds from this recording will be donated to charities benefiting the health and welfare of children and their families.
