ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Bassist Bart Tarenskeen formed his current quartet after having played most of the music to be heard on this cd with various other bands. As pianist Rob van Bavel played with him in most of those other bands he was the obvious choice. Simon Rigter had to replace another saxophone player at the last minute, which turned out to be a blessing. He fit perfectly in the band and the music. Joost Kroon, best-known for his work with the New Cool Collective, proves his versatility in this band by playing jazz as well as any drummer in Holland.
The first three tunes on their live cd were written separately but together form a suite that is heavily influenced by John Coltrane's music. Sad is a ballad that does it's name justice, and Zig Zag is a slightly more modern composition, and a real burner.
The recording was made in Arnhem at Sound Vision Studio, a recording studio big enough to have an small audience present.
