"Bears of Winter is the brainchild of Andrew Morse. Conceived in the fall of 2006, the music is a derivative of living and working fulltime in a recording studio just outside of Pittsburgh, PA. During nights spent alone in the studio Morse began to construct songs based on noise and samples he had recorded, creating atmospheres unheard before, and a new original sound. The music is meant to move the listener, to welcome them to a darker world than what we know, and to introduce noise (and sounds not often perceived as musical) as an instrument. Bears of Winter released their debut album '.darkbare' in September of 2007, as a collage of material conceived in darkness. '.darkbare' is an album about being alone at night, about seeing things that may or may not really be there, and about being on the fringe. Currently, Bears of Winter are recording a new album set for release in early 2009. The group continues to explore the things in life that set one person apart from others, while describing the ferocity and complexity of the darkness around us."
