Session

by Beata Pater

This singer's style has developed as she has reconstructed the old jazz with a new feeling, her voice another instrument in the mix. More than a vocalist, she brought the soul of long-gone singers back to life.

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Originally released and recorded in Japan in 1993, Session is Beata's first independent solo album. Spending her days as a Sony studio recording artist and a Yamaha School of Music educator, Beata spent her evenings performing in the jazz clubs of Tokyo, Yokohama, and Nagoya. The music contained within was recorded at the culmination of a tour of Japan with Buca Necak on bass and Donny Schwekendiek playing piano. Most of the material presented here was recorded at Yokohama's oldest jazz house, Dolphy.

“To my beloved father, thank you is not enough- I have been singing for us.” ~Beata
