Becky is one of the few female exponents of the Uilleann or Irish Pipes in England today. Well renowned as a solo performer and teacher, Becky has performed at folk festivals and events in the UK & Europe for the last 20 years.
Her debut album was released in December 2002 to critical acclaim throughout the folk scene. Closely followed by the publication of her tunebook in December 2003 which showcased a selection of compositions from her unique repertoire. 2008 sees the much anticipated launch of the 'Ireland Bridge' album, a potent mix of traditional tunes and contemporary composition.
Becky is renowned for her ability to give a distinctive interpretation to traditional tunes on a variety of instruments; Uilleann pipes, fiddle, Northumbrian pipes, whistle and duet concertina, and her skill in composing and arranging tunes that continue that tradition are a major feature of her music.
.."leaving no doubt as to Becky Taylor's abilities: a fine command of her instrument, a repertoire as wide as these islands, and a gift for contemporary composition.."
"..Ireland Bridge is a big step forward and presents Becky as a piper to be reckoned with.."
