Album Notes
Bekah Kelso is a folk-hop gypsy, traveling singer/songwriter, health-nut party girl, actress, writer, seeker of the light, girl with creative juju... and she totally loves you already. Her 2011 release "Departures" is a stylish, groove-oriented pop EP with lyrics that are introspective, uplifting, and clever.

"Departures is more than a worthwhile listen. Not only does Kelso have a big, rich voice but she also has something to say as a creative songwriter that incorporates great driving melodies with stylish, imaginative, poetic lyrics. Departures is a well produced gem." - Sharmin Petri, producer of the Houston Women's Music Festival

The journey for Departures took up most of 2011, beginning with a successful fan-funding campaign that raised $4,500 for the album's production, polishing, and replication. Initial recording was done at Studio 1400 in San Antonio, TX where Kelso worked with talented San Antonio producer Damian Rodriguez for the first time. Much musical chemistry ensued, Rodriguez adding tremendous color and depth to each song. The two found their footing as a creative team and continue working together today.

I love the crisp, clean and funky sound of this new album and highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for something new! My favorite song is Patron Saint because we all definitely know someone like this in our world!

So, Bekah Kelso has gone and done it again. Her musical whimsies and themes are topped only by the subtle messages that are found throughout the songs she's prepared for us. Not only is the music fun, adventurous, and easy to listen to, it is also "technically sound" as only a true musician can be! Yep, you can tell, I'm a fan-boy, but that's ok. I guarantee that once you listen to her music, you will be to! On this collection I especially enjoy "Seething Sun", and "Say Something". Oh, and while you are out there seeking and finding more of her sultry sounds, check out "Just for Today" from one of her previous works Mud Blossom. So, brighten your day: Buy this Album. You will be happy you did!

If you wondered if this was worth buying wonder no more. It is absolutly worth it. Bekah has an amazing voice and really delivers on her promise of something that you can listen to over and over. From Patron saint to Seething sun. Say something is a must for everyone! Says just what you want to say sometimes when you are getting the silent treatment. I have bought more than one copy so that I can give to friends and pass on the love. she is even better live if you can believe it! If you ever get the chance to see her perform check her out. Well worth it.
