ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Benavides and Wolf's exotic aesthetic is a result of the rich cultural experiences of its members. Currently residing in Asheville NC, Juan Benavides and Jake Wolf have been performing and recording together for over 5 years.Their latest album 'Volver a la Tierra' is the result of their exploration as a duo. Juan Benavides, born and raise in Colombia south America, is a guitarist very much rooted in styles encompassing flamenco and Latin music, while Jake Wolf, a bass player from Boston Ma, brings flavors of Blues, Jazz, and world music to the mix. The result is a very tightly woven dialogue between acoustic Flamenco guitar and electric six string bass, one that produces a totally new sound without trampling their core influences. Benavides Wolf's 'Volver a la Tierra' is a magical listening experience. It's innovative melodies and lively rhythms combine many different influences and cultures and reflect a universal essence of art and life.

Colorful and Spellbinding
What a beautiful and inspiring album. I was amazed at the colorful harmonic progressions and unexpected sonic and rhythmic explorations. A skillful and artistic playing made it feel effortless, but there is nothing simplistic or predictable about the music. Flowing and captivating artistry in the overall form as well as the nuance. Simply spellbinding.
