Album Notes
Born in Wellsville New York on the banks of a river that flows north, where the kindergarten teacher borrowed her for song time after she moved on to the first grade. Songs just come through Mary. She performed her first large piece with her 4th grade chorus, and picked up her first guitar, a red starburst Harmony Rocket soon after. Her love of the jumbo 12 string and the early influences of Heart, Joni Mitchell, Joan Armatrading, and CSNY have blended into a unique musical sound. This new CD marks her first solo recording effort. When you hear her sing you want to listen, and listen and listen, it's captivating, lyrically deep, powerful and unlike anyone you've heard. Some songs close clear and sexy like a Nora Jones, some wailing blues like Bonnie Raitt, others with a clear pop appeal like Sheryl Crow, but all are truly original. The singer is unmistakable but the songs and styles make you feel like you start over with each song. The natural ease within each makes them all seem like songs you've always known. This is a singer/songwriter that is really ready to be heard, her voice, her songs, herself. "Say Something Nice To Me" is a great showcase and a great CD. Check Mary out with her former band Tomboy!

Mary has a beautiful voice and her songs are moving, thoughtfilled and a little sexy. This cd is a great addition to your collection of music by women.

Sultry and superb
It is true that her style reminds you of other artists, but the CD is brimming with highly original recordings. And that voice, oh yes!
