The Soul's Voice, By Beth Martens -- Singer, Voice Liberator and Fire Starter
This lush, layered-voice music is for you if you are a woman with a voice -- a singer, artist, speaker, fem-preneur or heart-centred executive -- who is wanting to give strength, lustre and confidence to your self-expression while you take it to the next level.
Born of my practice for more than 20 years, this music is a sublime and effortless way to give you creative focus, connect your will with your life purpose and to help you take a grounded stand. It can be used daily as the basis for the spiritual practice of liberating your voice and meditating, as many of my listeners have done.
The Soul's Voice and all my music comes through me. I endeavour to faithfully answer my calling, to be of service to women who need to be more empowered, healthy and vibrant while they get their work out into the world where it's needed.
This collection of mantras is the perfect backdrop for a personal yoga practice and for getting the courage to give birth to your loves and passions. With it I saved my own life, literally, in a three-year battle with a 'corporate hangover' cancer that made me come out with a 'roar!' and commit full-time to singing, coaching and enabling women to take a stand for themselves as well.
As a performing artist I often sing with my band, The Kirtan Calling in a call-and-response forum that lends much power to self-expression, spiritual practice and community building. I love it because it is a joyful catalyst for the healthy change we all know is possible. Your event, sacred ceremony or organization can book the band, or me solo, to perform in an interactive kirtan format or as a motivational speaker/singer-songwriter that can incite joy, healing and pleasure. What They're Saying:
"I really like your voice and musical approach [on The Soul's Voice] -- gospel meets yoga."
~Thomas Moore, bestselling author of 'Care of the Soul'
"…[The Soul's Voice] is very authentic and well done, wish you much success with this journey."
~Terry McBride, CEO/owner of Nettwerk records
"On this entrancing disc [The Soul's Voice], Beth Martens subtly and powerfully calls us home. We spend our lives forgetting the source. Beth returns it to us, deepening and clarifying the well that we swim in. I highly recommend this wondrous piece of (he)art!"
~Jeff Brown, filmmaker, author of ‘Soulshaping’
Vijaya Living Knowledge (1999), recorded in a rich river valley in the Himalayas of India, is right from the source, my roots, and reflects the Indian landscape where I learned the mantras, to find my voice and to meditate.
Where There's Beauty (2003) marks my 'phoenix rising from the ashes' as a singer-songwriter, and was my return from death after surviving cancer.
The Yoga Lullabies (2007) is a long, soothing vocal bath, appropriate to put any child, adult or demon to restful sleep. It was recorded while I was pregnant with my son and is great for practicing yoga and meditation.
The Soul's Voice (2013), stylistically like The Yoga Lullabies, was blissfully recorded with wonderful soul, musician/producer, Keith Dyck, in his candle-lit cave of hanging silks and draping cats. Keith was the perfectly patient 'midwife' for giving birth to this work. Note: The track, Two Foot Take Off, was inspired by a book called Soulshaping, by author/filmmaker, Jeff Brown and the writing was encouraged by Terry McBride at Nettwerk Records; that song was recorded by acclaimed producer and musician, Dan Donahue.
Thank you to everyone who has empowered my music creation over the years, enabled me to have courage to have a voice and to always take the next risk with it. You are many and you are LOVED beyond belief. May amazing blessings come to you from it.
With kind love and namaste,
