Taps for Mr. Tapia
With sorrow I report that Bill Tapia just left the planet (on 12/11/11) for parts unknown, at the age of 103. His survivors include some great-great-grandchildren. He used to introduce songs onstage by mentioning, "I first played this back in World War I...." Wherever you are, Bill, I hope you brought your uke. If not, look around for George Harrison: he always traveled with TWO, just in case he met a fellow traveler who needed one.

Sorry, I was misinformed as to the date of Bill's passing: it was Dec 2, not Dec 11.
