Album Notes
Billy Brett has been playing music since 1966. Recording and playing in various bands, writing songs and doing solo dates. He has played with Arlo Guthrie, Livingston Taylor, and Ramblin' Jack Elliott. He was influenced by early Donovan records, Burt Jansch, Johnny Cash & Bob Dylan. He has been playing in Irish pubs in Phoenix for the last eight years with the Clare Voyants, recording two CD's with the band, which was one of the best pub bands in Arizona. Sadly, they are no more. Parish Lantern is Billy's first solo project.

The vocals did guide my way
Billy's unique and recognizable vocals led me past the crazy devil straight into the guiding light of the Parish Lantern, where Irishman, friends, family, and folksingers join together, look to the yellow moon, feel the wind blow, and just feel like singin' till the end of the day.

Lyrics and instrumentals combine beautifully to weave these tales.
Very impressed with lyrics and instrumentals on this CD. It was a flashback to some of the great music of a few decades ago when the songs really told a tale. Some haunting emotions and real nice licks on this one!Billy put together an excellent team of musicians to complement his tunes.

Wonderful, exactly what the folk scene needs.
Featuring some great original material as well as some fresh and unique takes on traditional standards, Billy Brett's sound is unmistakeably his. This album has soul, originality, and is a great contribution to folk music.
