Album Notes
Black Colt is a fusion of Roots-Rock, Psychedelia, Country, and Americana. It blends rich lyrical styling and genre-crossing musical experimentations- winding each tightly into songs that range from stories to glimpses into personal experience as seen through individual distortion. Imagistic lyricism is married with basic, yet complex instrumentation to form a unique dialogue between the mind and persona of the creators with the emotion and experience of the listener. This fusion creates a genuine focal point which remains clear throughout a changing sound from song to song. The classic A-Side/B-Side feel lets tension build and release in a manner that lends itself accessible to every ear. Individuality is present in each track- wit and wonder are apparent. Stories and introspective reflection are melded beautifully, offering a rare ten-course meal. The pallet changes every song, and offers a taste of every aspect of the artist's diverse menu. Listen through top to bottom. Each time you think you have the sound pegged, you are sent gently in a new direction. This is real and human.

Song lyrics are poetic and genius. "Counting 1,2,3, is contagious and I love the lead guitar in "What Am I to Do?" And comparing a woman to "A Bullet in the Head" is priceless as is enduring "Slow Pain." But, I believe my favorite is "Hail Mary." Very nice.
