Black Gardenia, the Vancouver-based six-piece whose ‘London Jazz meets Americana’ sound has delighted festival and club audiences on two continents, has released their debut album, ‘No Moon At All’, a collection of classic songs delivered in the band’s unique, darkly relaxed style.
“We have been honing our sound for two years now,” explains Black Gardenia’s founder and singer Daphne Roubini, “And we’re delighted to have an album that represents all that hard work and the incredible musical talent we’re lucky enough to have in this band.
“This album is so exciting because it marries the past and the present, exploring that mysterious area where jazz, folk and old time country meet. It harkens back to the past but it reflects today’s fascination with the old, with Americana. That’s why we put the Ukulele on the front cover. We’re keeping it simple. No airs and graces. Just great music.”
