ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
This project is the result of many years of playing/performing at Renaissance festivals and Irish pubs across the country. I set out to create a CD that would be enjoyable outside of a Renaissance festival setting and I'm told I've succeeded. My infulences on this project are varied, but I think you can detect a strong Bluegrass / Appalachian undercurrent. I have a strong love for the blues, as can be heard on my version of 'Wild Rover'. All these tracks are of my own arrangement and/or composition (to be exact, 6 are original). Some are traditional Irish tunes, some are original, not-so-Irish songs. It's me on all the vocals and instruments (bouzouki, guitar, percussion). I sincerely hope you enjoy!

Great music for the highway and family sing-alongs!
Rosen de Beau, Health to the Company and Flowers of Edinburgh are simply fabulous. I heard Bret playing these songs at the NY Rennaisance fair on September 10th, 2005, and I just had to have this CD. I look forward to hearing more Bouzouki on his next CD - (& it would be nice to also have the lyrics).

Absolutely great!
Discovered Bret at NYRF in 2007 and had to buy this CD - I only wish his second one was available on here as well! This one is really well done. I particularly like Maid of Comber and his version of Rosen de Beau. Excellent! I can't wait for his next one to be available online!

Let me know if you do another one! Great!
Hi Bret,

I just bought your CD at the NY Renaissance Faire on Sept 5. I've
listened to the CD fully several times since and LOVE IT.

Would love to know if you ever do another CD.

Thanks!

We love it! The whole CD is super!
Just wanted to say that whenever we heard you playing music about the shire, we just had to stop and listen! Enjoyed it alot. We did talk to you right before finale and we bought your CD on the way out as you suggested. We love it! We especially got a kick out of the "Wild Rover" blues!! Cannot say I have ever heard that song done quite that way before! The instrumentals were great too. Oh heck, the whole CD is super! Best wishes in all your future endeavors!!
