ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
The Bluegrass Gospel Project (BGP) was originally assembled as a one-time endeavor to perform a concert at First Night Burlington (VT) at the famed Flynn Theatre. For that concert, the band focused on the sub-genre of bluegrass gospel and the gorgeous vocal harmonies that distinguish that style. The performance was so well received that the band continued to perform and record together (and is still doing so). Since 2001, the band's repertoire has developed to include an increasing number of secular songs rendered in the bluegrass / Americana style, but still focuses on vocal harmonies supported by dynamic instrumental performances. As of late 2012, the BGP has released a total of six recordings, all live, and continues to perform what has become their identifiable brand of equal shares of gospel and secular songs, both cover and original. Over the years, the BGP has received much critical acclaim for their live performances and recordings. Sample this recording, and each successive one, to fully appreciate the ways in which this ensemble has matured and improved upon their special talent for selecting and performing songs which uniquely demonstrate their vocal and instrumental prowess. BGP's music is compelling and rewarding to people of all ages, faiths, and backgrounds.
