ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
From Origivation magazine:

Blue Sinatra
Velvet Gold
Independent Release
5 of 5 stars

Philly's favorite funk/jazz band has delivered a gorgeous record. These guys are great players, with a smooth-but-not-patronizing sound that has been known to melt the hardest of cores. It's almost impossible not to compare these guys to local heroes G-Love and Special Sauce, but these guys are fresh in their own rite. Totally danceable and respectable at the same time, Velvet Gold is shiny and soft, just like the title tells you. And who doesn't like shiny, soft stuff?

pretty frickin dope, i must say
It good to know that some of the dopest tunes are coming from the street of Philly. Blue Sinatra is pushing the
hip-hop genre and following in the footsteps of "The Roots".
Such a great vibe that helps me ride over the bumps that this world provides as it spins like a record.

Instant Classic
This is start of a band I've been following for quite some time. It is great to hear this EP and see how Blue Sinatra took early 70's influence and shifted that to 80's influences to an even more modern sound through their other records. This album is a triumph and a great CD to drive to, put on at a party, or hop on the L Train w/the headphones on.
