ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
STANDING with GIANTS( BLU)

A perfect mix of Old Skool and New Skool Hip-Hop with an edge that adds a fresh eclectic twist to the mix along side the unique vocals and lyrics of BLU.

BIO:

Originally hailing from Scotland, Blu trained as a dancer in Edinburgh before moving on to London.

She globe trotted around the world dancing and singing for many different audiences. A life-changing event happened after a visit to her first Hip-Hop club when she figured out that music was the only way forward for her.

On her return to London she gave up her dance career and lived a hermit's life honing her skillz as a singer/songwriter while trying to perfect her own individual style and voice.

"It took a while!" she says.

A friend dragged her onto MySpace where she was instantly inundated with people wanting to collaborate with her! "Its been overwhelming but being on there has been an inspiring and exciting experience she said"

The result is her debut album "Standing with Giants." An album with edge with collaborations with some of the "freshest producers and MC's from around the globe," Blu notes.

It's "a mixture of Hip-Hop, electronica and other wordly experiences! Eclectic Hip-Hop is what I like to call it," she says. "I always have to reach for something different, fresh and out of the box."

JUDGE FOR YOURSELVES!

BRAK'S LAIR
“A laid back vibe…singing sensation Blu comes through with something new. She will be standing with the giants of her musical genre.”

MUPHORIC SOUNDS
"A sweet and playful voice… Standing with Giants, is a chilled mix of tunes.”

THE URBAN MUSIC SCENE
“A new approach to R&B/Hip-Hop, by adding other worldly experiences mixed in with solid beats and a lovely arid voice…eclectic, fresh, & R&B'ish/Hip-Hop all rolled into one.”

Awesome
This CD is near perfection for me when it comes to something to just relax to that won't put me to sleep. I don't mean that in a bad way either, this music is great. The lyrics are perfect, the singing and "flow" is great. My only problem with the whole album is how the rappers she's paired with just aren't on her level but they aren't nearly bad enough to ruin the songs they're on. In all honesty those songs are still my favorites or really close on this cd. Spinnin will definitely get stuck in your head.
