Bob & April perform as a duo and with the band Acoustic Madness around the Metro Detroit area. They are also a part of Hanzie Records' Belle Islanders reggae group. They first had the idea to record a Christmas album around Halloween! Starting with "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus" (the 1st track) and finishing with Bob's solo guitar rendition of "Greensleeves" (the last track) recorded the night before deadline, IT'S CHRISTMAS TIME is a labor of love.
April has a pure, distinctive voice that works equally well as a harmony or solo instrument. Bob & April blend their voices to great effect on "Blue Christmas" and April harmonizes with herself beautifully on "Winter Wonderland".
The guitar styles presented by Bob go from straight ahead jazz on "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus" and "Sleigh Ride" to weepy pedal steel on "Blue Christmas" to gritty rock & roll on "Run Rudolph Run" and the original "It's Christmas Time".
Drummer Myles Rutledge (of Hanzie Records' The Stumbling Mice) plays on 5 of the tracks and upright bassist Ken Pesick is on "Blue Christmas". Other than that, it's Bob playing all the electric & acoustic guitars, bass and Hammond organ.
Bob & April would like nothing more than to be a part of people's holiday soundtrack for many years to come!
