ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
For Chicago, Illinois’ rising star Bobby Knight, getting to perform on the stage of a church was a dream come true alone. But to now be considering performing in venues with mainstream gospel music artists is out of this world. Bobby Knight’s song “New Creature” will be featured on Bobby’s newest album, CARNIVORE, due out in February 2013. “I just simply want to plant the seed, which is Christ, into peoples minds through my music,” Bobby says as he finishes yet another Holy Spirit inspired track at a studio in Richmond, Virginia. “I’m keeping this Christ centered and following the Great Commission completely.”
Bobby describes his own music as fun and youthful while at the same time powerful and signifying deep meaning. “Gospel rap is about testimonies; things I’ve been through and how God brought me out of those things. I take my lyrics straight out of the scriptures. My words mean nothing; God’s Word is everything.”
When asked about his experience in the studio, Bobby responded, “I’ve been doing this since I was 16 years old. That is well over 10 years of experience!”
Bobby’s voice, strong and deep, with powerful emotions laced in and out, gives a hint at the gospel rap artist’s checkered past. “I grew up in Chicago, living a life of gangbangin’ and selling drugs. I moved to Huntsville, Alabama. And with that life came selling drugs on a larger scale, robbery, prison, and drug addiction. Here in Richmond, Virginia, God has delivered me and brought me LIFE more abundantly. I’m not the silver spoon in the mouth guy. I’m the dude from the bottom. God is taking me higher. So with that, I’ve taken on the responsibility of discipling others who I try to deliver from the life I grew up in. My group, Street Clergy, is me giving all I got to people with closely related backgrounds. And my label, Holy Hands Entertainment, is a company I created for talented people who want to express themselves not only musically, but also in any spiritual capacity. So, God helped me, and now I want God to use me to help others.”
Having been involved in New Life for Youth, the outreach program of New Life Outreach International, Bobby has seen his share of missionary work. “We used to just set up shop in front of stores and pray for people. We got out the information about the ministry, and then we went into our testimonies. That lit a fire in me. I now have to go out and be amongst the people in the streets. That’s my calling; to be an inspiration to the gangsters, prostitutes, and addicts I meet there. I want to show them that it is possible to get out of those situations; to help them find answers to their questions through Jesus Christ.”
Gearing himself up to shoot his next video to promote his upcoming album, CARNIVORE, Bobby Knight stays focused on the Cross and every blessing that comes with it. “Everyone has dreams and goals. I’m just pressing in deeper and letting God lead the way.”
