ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Bolistik

A ballistic body is defined as one that is free to move, behave, and be changed by ambient conditions- in this case music. Bolistik, the joining forces of producer/drummer Ben Krames (Jungleshack Music) and label owner/bassist Jetsun Bradford-Ebey (Good Worx Music Group,) is named with this in mind. It is the gathering of many musicians from varied backgrounds and cultures so that we may learn from them and in turn be changed. While the focus of the album is on hip-hop, roots reggae, dancehall reggae and R&B it’s broader scope incorporates music from all over the world. The music combines the explosive power of rhythm with the unifying strength of lyrics.

The artists, combining on Bolistik bring their own expertise and experience so that the whole of the product is a true international flavor. Included on the album is Jamaican-born singer Junior Reid is best known for his role as lead vocalist in Black Uhuru. Recently Jr Reid has recorded with some of the music industries biggest names including, The Wu Tang Clan, Mims (This is Why I’m Hot,) The Game, and Alicia Keys. His track on Bolistik “One Big Family” also features reggae greats Lutan Fyah, Ras Attitude, and Rankin Scroo. Other artists that shine on this album are: member of worldwide touring group Spearhead, Radioactive, Havana born rapper, Mano Negra, Morocco native, Bouchaib Abdelhadi, San Francisco Bay area MC and piano virtuoso, Kev Choice, reggae legend Yami Bolo among others. This truly is world music and as such, it belongs to all the people of this world.

Bolistik was produced in it’s entirety by Ben Krames whose previous works have spanned many genres including: jazz, hip-hop, R&B, Latin, rock, reggae, middle eastern and others. It’s because of this experience Bolistik seamlessly fuses styles combining sounds from many cultures.

This is the first project for Jetsun Bradford-Ebey and Good Worx Music Group but he brings his positive energy and lifelong commitment to creating a better world through music.

While Bolistik is just starting up there are already big plans in the works including a second album and tour. Bolistik’s goal is to raise social awareness and create sustainability within the music, the environment, and the world at large. This is a music of both change and unity.
