ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
From humble beginnings in 2000, to presenting their talents as Showcase Artist at the 2006 IBMA World of Bluegrass in Nashville, Tennessee, The Boohers have evolved into a world class band!

A musical family from the bluegrass heartland in east Tennessee that consist of Gary Booher (banjo/guitar/vocals),
Lora Booher (guitar/vocals), Joseph Booher (mandolin/mandola/vocals), Jamey Booher (upright bass/vocals), and Josh Doss (lead guitar).

Their latest CD, (recorded in 2007), demonstrates the exceptional musical talent and versitility of this family band. Lora's vocals are truly amazing as she leads five of the selections; Joseph's great baritone voice is evident in four selections and Gary lends his voice on two cuts and contributed three songs to the recording.

Good friends Steve Gulley and Tim Crouch lend their amazing talents on vocals and fiddle respectively. Steve Gulley helped produced this CD; Steve adds: "Gary, Lora, Jamey and Joe are some of the warmest, most caring and talented people you will ever meet and the music shows it....I was proud to be a small part of making this project, but even more proud to be a part of this family".

What do other people have to say about The Boohers?

"When I first started to play, Gary Booher was already one of the best musicians in this area; now he and his family make up one of the strongest family bands around. Heartfelt harmonies and good picking from the Bluegrass heartland: that's a powerful combination!"

~Tim Stafford - (Award Winning Singer & Guitarist - Blue Highway)

"I met The Boohers at IBMA and was so impressed by their talents! I told Tom T. that I wanted him to meet my newly discovered friends. We invited them to stay for a few days at our home, Fox Hollow, in Tennessee, where we got to know each other and gave them a few of our songs! We feel like we've known them forever, and highly recommend them!"
"P.S. If Joe were up for adoption, we'd take him!"

~Dixie Hall - (World Renown songwriter - Good Home Grown Music)

The Booher Family did a great job as presenters at the IBMA Bluegrass in the Schools Teacher workshop, last April in Mississippi. If you book them, expect the highest caliber singing, musicianship and stage show.

~Nancy Cardwell –(IBMA Special Projects Director – Freelance Journalist, BG Unlimited & BG Now)

"Lora Booher's voice has a clear, convincing quality that makes you both believe and understand what she's talking about. Lora delivers the message with a style and flair that makes you just know she's experienced what she's singing about. The Boohers are yet another example of how a group of people who live and grow together seem to make the finest music around!”

~ Adam Steffey –(IBMA Mandolin Player of the Year 2002 - 2003 – 2004 - 2005)

"Fantastic Pickers with that unforgettable, fine family harmony........these folks are GREAT!"

~Tim White – (Radio Personality, Co-Founder of ACMA, Member of The VW Boys)

"The Boohers will be a wonderfully fresh dimension for any bluegrass audience. Their instrumental work is tight, and in-the-pocket; they can definitely cut their gig! But more than that, they present fresh unaffected vocal harmonies, (found only in true family bands), laid over heartfelt, (and sometimes chilling), original material. This Christian family will bless your ears, and your heart. I recommend them to you - highly!"
~Bill McBee – (Pine Mountain Railroad, IBMA Nominee -Emerging Artist of The Year 2002, 2003)

“When The Boohers performed in our hospitality suite IBMA, I realized they are more than just your regular family band. They are true entertainers! With their original songs, family-tight harmony, comedic talent and true love of what they are doing, they provide an excellent show! Very sweet people and fun to be around."

- Penni McDaniel – (President, Hope River Entertainment)

You want great bluegrass and acoustic music....look no further than The Boohers!
