ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Singer / Songwriter / Guitarist "Bottleneck" Bob Fruhlinger has been performing since 1965.
The name Bottleneck Bob derives from the steel slide (or "bottleneck") worn on the pinky finger while playing guitar.

Born in New York City he played extensively during the '70s & '80s in such legendary clubs as Trude Heller's; Max's Kansas City; The Peppermint Lounge and CBGB. His band "The Dates" shared the stage with Madonna, Blondie and The Ramones.
Now living in San Francisco, he has worked in a variety of local bands including The High Rollers with Phil Berkowitz; The Blind Lemon band; Brother Cat; The Adam Traum Band; Ball of Confusion and Tapestry.

Madame Porky's Rib Shack features Bottleneck Bob's special blend of Soul-Blues.
Five of the songs are his original compositions: "Madame Porky's Rib Shack"; "Doggin' Around"; 'A Lonely Sound"; "That's For Real" and "Mainline".
He also covers two Clarence Carter tunes: "Tell Daddy" and "Slip Away"; Al Green's "Simply Beautiful"; Sam Cooke's "A Change is Gonna Come"; Freddy King's "Love Her With a Feeling"; Otis Redding's "Dock of the Bay" and "Drownin' on Dry Land" as performed by Albert King and O.V. Wright.
