ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Marma Music offers 12 brand-new fiddle and old time music selections on this newest release from Boyd Deering. Boyd composed the entire album feeling that after the passing of Bill Monroe, John Hartford, and others that it was high time somebody carried on with new tunes in an older tradtition. With the brilliant production, editing, arranging, recording, and performance skills of the album's producer, Jim Wood, the combination of Boyd's creativity and Jim's top-notch skills on the fiddle make for a striking and deadly combination. Jim's wife, Inge, adds the rhythm guitar as Boyd takes some very tasteful rides on his Gilchrist mandolin on some of the slower numbers. All ego's are at the door and the music is first. This is much in the style of the great series of fiddle albums that Kenny Baker did in the 1970's. If you like fiddle and mandolin tunes in the old time folk style with a modern twist, this project is a must have.
