ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
From 23rd Street in Oklahoma City, Brandon Isaak is releasing his first full length album this Fall. Garage Apartment is a solo recording completed over a matter of eight months, beginning in January of 2007 with the song "Coming Down". Immediately afterwards, "Backfired Today", "Questions Know Answers", and "Safety Lines" were written. By April, "Sink into the Beast Inside", "Right in Front", and "Satellite Spin" came into existence. Time was taken to start a new job in May at OCCC and write more, but it was a quick descent into “Satellite Spin”, “Think Twice”, “Drown in the Sea”, and “Beneath the Sun”. “Blue Devil’s Dream” almost didn’t make the cut since it was the last song on the album to be recorded, and at that time, there were two other tracks already occupying the album, “Miles” and “The Places to Run”. “Blue Devil’s Dream” was inspired by the cover artwork done by Erin Baird, a student of Art at SCAD, called “Blue Devils”. The song, "Intentions", is the only song that wasn't recorded in 2007. It was originally written in the moment it happened, Fall 2005. In one of the many bouts that happened that Fall, “Intentions” was captured on a shitty tape recorder while Brandon’s X slept in the next room. The song was later recorded officially in the Summer of 2006 at Paul Kriley’s house in Norman, Oklahoma.
